Electrophysiology studies AV node ablation
Electrophysiology studies AV node ablation
This procedure involves the use of 3 catheters to correct arrhythmias in the heart that cannot be treated with medicine.
An electrode catheter is inserted into the right atrium along the wall.
A mapping catheter is also inserted into the same chamber.
An arrhythmia is induced by the electrode catheter.
The mapping catheter maps the electrical pathway created by the arrhythmia.
An ablation catheter is inserted into the right atrium and ablates the mapped regions.
