3 main properties of cath-lab table

Strength & Minimal absorption

  • Patient tables must provide strength to support patients and are rated by the manufacturer for a particular weight limit. Most vendors will offer a table with a capacity of up to 450 pounds to have no limitations for patient imaging.
  • It is also important that the table does not absorb much radiation to avoid shadows, loss of signal and loss of contrast in the image.

Strength & Minimal absorption

  • Foam pads are often placed between the patient and the table for added comfort, yet with minimal radiation absorption.

Bed side console

  • The control panel can be mounted at any side of the patient table.
  • All the positions of  tube and table can be control by this console.
  • Also capture images for further review, prospective or retrospective. With a touch of a button, fluoro images can be saved for immediate playback.

Table Positions

  • To allow for stretcher positioning, the table should also be able to rotate laterally a minimum of ninety degrees.
  • Tables may be floor or ceiling-mounted (depends on availability from a particular vender and what is required by the rooms physical limitations).
